Today we worked on average velocity.
Today we are using the launch pad. We set the launch pad at different angles. Then we let the rockets go and experimented with that. We were trying to see how far the rocket would go.
Today we worked on the website. We made a new page. The new page was called Engineering process. Then we put new pages on that page. They are called Define the Problem, Research, Generate Ideas, Develop a design, Testing, Evaluating and Refine your Design.
We took one of the straws and measured out 10 centimeters. After we got the measurement we cut the straws. Then we measured out some clay. We had three pieces of clay. One piece was one centimeter. The second piece was 1 and a half centimeters. The third piece was two centimeters. Then we placed the clay on the end of the straw. We wanted to see if the cone head would change how far it goes.
On the first day we started to make rockets. We took two different straws and measured them out. After that we took the scissors and cut them. Then we put the clay on the ends and experimented with them. We wanted to see if the length would affect how far it went. It did not. Sometimes the rocket would go far and sometimes it wouldn't.
